Case reviews provide members with another mechanism for learning from one another. Members will have the opportunity to present challenging or unusual patient cases and engage in discussion with their peers. These will be in webinar format and be one hour in length.
This pediatric palliative care discussion will explore the intensive care of an infant with a progressive metabolic disease to consider questions such as:
1. How do we balance concerns for the suffering of a child/dependent patient, staff distress and parental/family wishes?
2. How do we hold a family’s care goals when we disagree and/or are experiencing our own distress as palliative care providers? Over months? Over years?
